Commercial Barista Training
During our time together, we will explore various jobs a barista will come across; including how to consistently pull the perfect shot, master milk texturing and latte art techniques, and ultimately enhance your barista’s knowledge of coffee. This deeper understanding will empower them to assist customers with any coffee-related questions they may have, and ultimately improve the quality of your product and the service you provide.
Below is a quick overview of our available sessions!

The Fundamentals Course
2½ – 3 hours
● Basic introduction to what coffee is and where it comes from (farm to consumer)
● Espresso foundations (covering using a recipe to dial in coffee grinders)
● Milk texturing overview and practical
● Latte art overview and practical
● Drink composition overview to suit your menu
● Basic machine maintenance demonstration
Additional 30 minutes or so and discuss troubleshooting common grinder and espresso
machine issues and resolutions with Managers / Supervisors.
I will leave behind a handy ‘dialling in sheet’, helping to provide trainees with a visual tool to aid in understanding the dialling in process.
Price per session:
£150 +£15pp – With a maximum of 5 people per session (Max £210 excluding travel)

The Advanced Course
3½ – 4½ hours
● Detailed breakdown of what coffee is, where it comes from (farm to consumer), and an overview of what goes into your blend. (Including a tasting session of washed and natural coffee)
● A detailed introduction to “dialling in”, making espresso as well as possible, and learning the foundations of espresso creation. (Including a practical for members of
staff to engage with)
● A detailed breakdown of how to steam and texture milk, and pour basic latte art (with this session, we will have enough time to allow staff to have ample time to get hands
on with the machine)
● A breakdown of the coffee menu, and an overview of how to make the drinks on your menu, to your specifications.
● An overall machine maintenance breakdown.
Additional 30 minutes or so and discuss troubleshooting common grinder and espresso
machine issues and resolutions with Managers / Supervisors.
I will leave a detailed breakdown of everything we have covered in a document for you to access upon request, as well as a handy ‘dialling in sheet’, helping to provide trainees with a visual tool to aid in understanding the dialling in process.
Price per session:
£275 +£15pp with a maximum of 5 people per session (Max £330 excluding travel)

Latte Art Course
90 min – 2 hour course, covering the following:
● Choosing the right milk for texturing (milk composition)
● Steam wand positioning and milk texturing
● Demonstration on pouring essential latte art patterns
● Practical with team, allowing the group to have time to practice with professional
supervision
● Demonstration of how to pour cappuccino milk compared to latte milk
● Demonstration with dairy alternative milk
Price per session:
£120 +15pp with a maximum of 5 people per session (Max £180 excluding travel)

The ‘Head Barista’ course
3½ – 4½ hour course covering the following:
● A detailed breakdown of what coffee is, where it comes from (farm to consumer), and
what goes into your blend. (Including a tasting session of washed and natural coffee)
● A detailed introduction to “dialling in”, making espresso as well as possible, and
learning the foundations of espresso creation. Then, a detailed explanation of the
best ways to convey this information to new staff members.
● A detailed breakdown of how to steam and texture milk, and pour basic latte art.
Then, a detailed explanation of the best ways to convey this information to new staff members.
● A breakdown of the coffee menu, and an overview of how to make the drinks on the menu, Including a detailed explanation of the best ways to convey this information to new staff members. (Optionally, a walk through of the essentials of hand brew filter coffee)
● An overall machine maintenance breakdown, including stripping down and cleaning
the grinders, and reprogramming the espresso machine, and resolving common issues with hardware (clump crushers etc).
I will grant access to a detailed breakdown of the barista training syllabus Powerpoint, upon request, as an incredibly handy onboarding tool. I will also leave behind a handy ‘dialling in sheet’, helping to provide trainees with a visual tool to aid in understanding the dialling in process.
Price per session:
£275 + £40pp with a maximum of 3 people per session (Max £355 excluding travel)
After our session, I will provide a detailed PDF summary of everything we’ve covered during our time together. Each session will run for between 2.5 to 4.5 hours (depending on the plan), and will be limited to a maximum of six participants to ensure everyone has ample time to practice.
The above prices are fixed if the customer is within a 15 mile radius of Macclesfield, Cheshire. If
outside of that radius, there will be an additional cost of 50p per mile to and from the
customer to cover the travel expense.
I will arrive 30 minutes prior to the session to ensure the equipment is set up and ready for the commencing session, and I will leave a detailed email summary of how the session went, including an outline for how to continue to implement the discussed topics going forward.
